2020 -- featured on KUTX 'Love Austin Music Month' and 'Tribeza'

I am very so sorry not to update news like ....2years! Here we are now in 2020, everyone quarantined from Covit 19 now

2018, and 19 had passed with light speed, Sarah Sharp got listed on Starbucks play list of 2019 fall, her song 'Phoebe's Dream' and 'For Your Love' were lotated in all the Starbucks shops in US. I don't know how many Starbucks in US but like hundreds or a thousand?

This year, started with tragedy, my Jazz at Noon pianist, great composer and my dear friend Rich Harney passed away suddenly, unexpectedly.

It still hasn't settled on my heart, I just can't believe it. But please rest in peace Rich, we are continued playing his tons of great compositions.

In February, I was featured in the video produced by KUTX 98.9 Austin TX with the Jitterbug Vipers, this was filmed early last year.

And, in March, I was included in the Tribeza magazine article of female drummers in Austin TX, too!

click here to read the article!

Now, we are all sealed at home at least until May 1st, when all the bars and restaurants reopen.

We just started streaming our shows from our home, like dozens of Austin local musicians, because of that Austin is the live music capital of the world, no live means no job, no income for us. Our patron organizatiin Black Fret started fundraising live stream show for us all.

Sarah Sharp got listed on last Thursday, we played in highly risk managed circumstance, outdoor stage of the Stoltz Garden.

please watch us here, we starts around 30 minutes from begining

And they are keep streaming for fundraising, keeping Austin as the Live music capital of the world. Please check thier website, watch how we are doing, become the Black Fret member!

Austin got featured on JAL Skyword magazine!

Posted on September 7, 2016 at 12:00 AM

JAL (Japan Airline)'s original magazine on the plane 'Skyword Magazine' features interesting cities every monthly issue, and because they will start Austin-Japan direst flight sharing code with one of USA airline(sorry, I don't know which airline!), they featured Austin! And I had an interview with them a couple of month ago. Since this magazine is available to read only on the JAL airplane, I wasn't sure what's going on till one of my Japanese friend posted these pictures on Facebook, and said he found me on the magazine in JAL airplane on the trip!! Thanks for careful traveler!!

日本航空の機内誌9月号にオースティンの街が紹介されています。その中には私のインタビューも載せていただいているようなので、もしJAL に乗る予定のある方、ぜひ座席ポケットに入っているスカイワード誌をひらいてみてください!

Slim Smiles After Party at Fischer Hall

Posted on June 28, 2015 at 7:25 PM

Today, Slim Smiles After Party at Fischer Hall all day.

I burned my face while cooking donuts yesterday, one donut exploded in hot deep frying oil, and splashed half of my face... it is level 2 burn, I will be ok, but I shouldn't go out a few days with this burned face... such a horrible accident just before this big Slim's party. I m so sad...

This article is all about Slim, and Jitterbug Vipers was on the news "Studio 512" on KXAN, performed "Dangerous" and promote this party.

We love Slim Richey forever!!!

Rad Austin Magazine

Jitterbug Vipers had a interview with Rad Austin Magazine, and it is on now!!

This is a great interview about history of Jitterbug Vipers. My part was kinda miss communication, some of words are different from what I meant, it is all about my language pronaunciation issue!!!

And sad news is I lost my LunchWithMasumi domain, and couple of issues with musicians (moved away, being sick, too busy....etc), so online show Jazz at Noon series ended. I will upload all the archives video in this website soon, so you can enjoy them again though!!

My first band Groovin' Girls (1995-2000) reunited last summer in Tokyo Japan, and recorded an album in 1&1/2 days, this recording will be release soon, I can't tell details yet, but it will be very fun year!!!! Thanks, and LOVE Y'ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Belate Happy New Year.....

Posted on February 18, 2015 at 10:35 PM

I had had really hard difficult new year day, and it had been hard whole through January till turning this amazing February!!

I don't want to tell details, but i had car spinning on the ice, speeding ticket, cut my wrist accidentally, got flu, and got stolen my identity by junk mail....

I fixed that car, went to hospital twice, taking diffensive driving course, set up all identity theft alerts for my SSN, bank info and EVERYTHING!! Anyway, I m totally safe and sound right now!!

Slim is getting better, Jitterbug Vipers is staying strong, played at Paramount Theatre Austin 100 year anniversary event, and I am keeping Slim Richey Band, Jon Blondell Band, 35mm, Rich Harney trio, and subbed Wasabi Big Band so far in2015.

AND, I am on the new Dell commercial, it just released 2/10, my first actress gig is such a global!!

In this weekend, I will have my band with special guests on this Saturday 2/21 at Brass House (115 San Jacinto Austin TX 78701), "Masumi and the Gents feat. Andre Hayward", with great singer Bree Bruns!! Sticky Lopes (Evan Arredondo) on bass and Carter Arrington on guitar, this will be a super band!

Then, I will sub great Austin top call drummer Scott Laningham on Manday 2/23 at Gallery, yes, I will play Church on Monday, woo hoo!! One of my favorite band in the world! Big thanks for Elias Haslanger!!

Jitterbug Vipers will be on SXSW official showcase in this year also, details will be later. I had all bad things happened in January already, I will have only happy great days in rest of 2015!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks everyone, love y'all!!!!
