Thank you for supporting us through this quarantine, I had 2 online shows at Monks Jazz Club with limited live audiences sponsored by Austin Jazz Society Project Safety Net, and last night was the last show for this series also. I had blust. Thank you for everyone, thank you thank you.
The first booked gig at Elephant Room in this year actually got postponed, and I couldn't make it for new date and time, so I should let go though now my very first Elephangt Room gig will be with the Jitterbug Vipers, June 23rd Happy Hour 6pm - 8pm, i am crossing my fingers not to be postponed also!

Despite of the Thunderstorm condition, 'Sing Out!' turned out to the big success!
Weather was the worst until a few hours before downbeat, crews prepared outside festival stage with some fear of electrocution and damaging equipments with water, but
THEY DID IT!! and
WE KILLED THE SHOW!!!!
We will travel to NYC next year to perform this show at the Rose Theatre Jazz at the Lincoln Center on June 21st 2022!!
And my first gig at Elephant Room just got booked on Sunday June 20th with Mitch Watkins Trio 9pm!
Its been more than 15 months since I played there last year!! Please come down!!

Happy New Year y'all!
yes, 2017 was very dramatic, and god speed. I had a couple of new recordings in fall, Sarah Sharp won Black Fret major grant and we played at Paramount Theatre for Black Fret Ball, it was a great night. She is nominated for Austin Music Poll 2017-18 with 2categories right now, please visit
http://www.austinchronicle.com/vote-austin-music-awards/ for voting for her!
On the other hand, my 'Masumi and the Gentlemen's residency at Lamberts ended the end of 2017, it had been goin on 6 years. I am very grateful. Thanks y'all!!

Ritenuto Foundation, Inc., in collaboration with the St. Edward’s University Music Department, is proud to announce its first annual Austin women-led band Festival: LuluFest, to be held on June 3rd, 2017, in the newly renovated Jones Auditorium, situated in the Ragsdale Center, on the St. Ed’s campus.
The focus of this one-day event (concerts and workshops) will be women bandleaders — both seasoned and up-and-coming, who are making their music the focus of their lives. The evening concert line-up is outstanding: trumpet virtuoso Ingrid Jensen and Helen Sung (world-class pianist) will be coming from New York City, guitarist Albanie Falletta (based in New Orleans), vocalist Susanna Sharpe, and vocalist Suzi Stern. The evening concludes with pianist Peggy Stern’s Estrella Salsa in a jam with all the players.
◤CONCERTS◥
5 PM: Albanie Falletta Trio, featuring Masumi Jones
6 PM: Susanna Sharpe Brazilian Quartet
7 PM: Ingrid Jensen Quartet
8 PM: Helen Sung Trio
9 PM: Estrella Salsa, featuring Suzi Stern, Joey Colarusso, Ingrid Jensen, Daniel Durham, Michael Longoria and Peggy Stern
◤WORKSHOPS◥
The workshops will focus on basic jazz improv skills, not only for students already into jazz, but also those who are classically trained and think they might enjoy improvisation.
The workshops will be instrument specific: Piano (Helen Sung); Trumpet (Ingrid Jensen); Vocals (Suzi Stern); Drums (Masumi Jones).
12-1:30 PM in the Carriage House (music building at St. Ed’s).
2-3:30PM: Masterclass will be held in Jones Auditorium, the building adjacent.

I hope everything would be settled OK. It is really not so happy new year 2017 so far, I am afraid of what is going on in US under new president right now. I hope we can stay together with compassion, love, and peace whatever happens on us internationally.
Good news is G.G. will go to Japan all 3 of us together this time in this spring!! Please keep open Friday April 21!! We are going to perform at Motion Blue Yokohama with special guest Ryu Miho.

I came back from Japan!!
I had a couple of gigs with Takana Miyamoto(p) and Kenji Shimada(b), so we called it G.G. 2/3!!
And I reunited with my PTA band which was based on my son's elementaly school PTA board members back in 2006-2008 during my service as a vice PTA president.
Then, I participated to 60th anniversary concert of Waseda Univ. High Society Orchestra! I reunited many friends in college big band in Tokyo, met older and younger alumnis, about 160 musicians shared stage, in 9 big bands! It was something.

I have no idea what would be happning in 2016...
I have 2 recordings coming up, one with Marilyn Rucker in this month, another one with Sarah Sharp / Yaniel Matos in February, and G.G. first ever tour in March right here in Austin, besides regular everyday live gigs.
Additionally Hey Lolly 1st Sunday brunch residency at Cherrywood Coffee house just started last Sunday, 35mm 3rd Thursday residency at Firehouse lounge starts in January, Jitterbug Vipers will be on the Slim Festival in Terlingua TX in February, and Sarah Sharp band will make your Valentine's night awesome at Townsend.
Kinda a lot in slow winter time for musicians!!
I hope I can go back to Japan for G.G. tour in later this year.
I m waiting my spinet piano tuned up for possible Jazz at Noon returning....
Stay Tuned!!
