2020 -- featured on KUTX 'Love Austin Music Month' and 'Tribeza'

Posted on March 21, 2020 at 4:40 PM

I am very so sorry not to update news like ....2years! Here we are now in 2020, everyone quarantined from Covit 19 now

2018, and 19 had passed with light speed, Sarah Sharp got listed on Starbucks play list of 2019 fall, her song 'Phoebe's Dream' and 'For Your Love' were lotated in all the Starbucks shops in US. I don't know how many Starbucks in US but like hundreds or a thousand?

This year, started with tragedy, my Jazz at Noon pianist, great composer and my dear friend Rich Harney passed away suddenly, unexpectedly.

It still hasn't settled on my heart, I just can't believe it. But please rest in peace Rich, we are continued playing his tons of great compositions.

In February, I was featured in the video produced by KUTX 98.9 Austin TX with the Jitterbug Vipers, this was filmed early last year.

And, in March, I was included in the Tribeza magazine article of female drummers in Austin TX, too!

Now, we are all sealed at home at least until May 1st, when all the bars and restaurants reopen.

We just started streaming our shows from our home, like dozens of Austin local musicians, because of that Austin is the live music capital of the world, no live means no job, no income for us. Our patron organizatiin Black Fret started fundraising live stream show for us all.

Sarah Sharp got listed on last Thursday, we played in highly risk managed circumstance, outdoor stage of the Stoltz Garden.

please watch us here, we starts around 30 minutes from begining

And they are keep streaming for fundraising, keeping Austin as the Live music capital of the world. Please check thier website, watch how we are doing, become the Black Fret member!

On the other hand, my 'Masumi and the Gentlemen's residency at Lamberts ended the end of 2017, it had been goin on 6 years. I am very grateful. Thanks y'all!!

Sarah Sharp Project at Townsend was fabulous!

Posted on November 6, 2015 at 10:20 AM

WOW! It was another beautiful night at Townsend, my new favorite listening room just across the Paramount Theatre downtown Austin!!

This venue was a sushi bar, now they made it very upgraded full bar. Listening room is after this front bar, behind double doors, very quiet accoustic space. We will be back here on Valentine's day with Dinner setting. very romantic I guess!

This video was taken in the last Sarah Sharp show at Townsend 10/6/15.
Sarah Sharp vo, Wilson Marks g, Mitch Watkins g, Daniel Durham b, and me on drum (no one could see me though)
Mitch Watkins joined us first time (we played with him other band but first of this format), oh my god he of course beautifully played entire night!
I thought it was awesome match with Wilson Marks's guitar play, too.
This song "Everytime we say good-bye" was the last song on the night. Personally, this song was tributed to Mr. Michael Point by Jitterbug Vipers 10/7/13 just after he passed away. He was a great music supporter, an awesome writer for Down Beat magazine, we really thank him forever.
Sarah Sharp project is pickin up more and more shows

Yaniel Matos from Brazil

Posted on September 29, 2015 at 10:00 AM

I went to see a house concert to the other side of the river from my neighborhood community last Saturday 9/26/15. It is really 1 miles north from my house but river and high cliff made me drive all around 30 minutes to get there!!

That was Yaniel Motos, great pianist, celloist, vocalist, comporser and producer. Yaniel Matos, Daniel Durham (B), and Michael Longoria blew my mind. I took a video of encore.

man, it was such an awesome concert!!

Then, because I play with Daniel D a lot in gigs, Yaniel heard that I was a drummer, he wanted to jam with me and Daniel!! Fortunately my badass singer Sarah Sharp invited us to jam in her living room with awesome 1920's stainway piano. we jammed his tunes, free, all the things you are-ish, and jammed with Sarah, too! So we kinda composed a great tune. It would be finished with lylics by Sarah soon. Frank Almendra who hosts Yaniel in US took a video of us playing Sarah's song "Blame it on the Night" Yaniel kindly posted this video on FB and said this was a rehearsal for the next show with his new friends!! Enjoy a bit of our new band!!!!!!!!!!!

2015 Summer is going!!

Posted on August 30, 2015 at 11:55 PM

Jitterbug Vipers got reformed.

Without Slim Richey, Jitterbug Vipers is still strongly keeping Austin weird! We invited Bree Bruns Romeo (former Slim Richey band singer) as our new Beta Bitch Viper singer. She sings big, and scatts awesome. Please come down to check her out!!

New website is

We keep Elephant Room Happy Hour 3-4 nights a month, and C-Boys Heart & Soul on every Friday regularly, and also events, Lamberts, private party etc, too. Check my "gig" page for details

And Sarah Sharp started her new pop project!! She doesn't have official band name yet, though this band is already rocking Austin and Colorado!!!

Wilson Marks and Buffalo Speedway play guitar, Daniel Durham on bass, and Ephraim Owens joined our first gig and Colorado event, too!!

We just had a big show at Stay Gold last Thursday, great Rebecca Havemeyer's band played before us that night! We will play at Continental Gallery 9/8 and 9/15 happy hour, also Stay Gold 12/19.

And my other big project 35mm is really happening right now!!

We had a great show at Spider House Ball Room last weekend, our tunes were on the radio KOOP last week also for PR of this Spider event.

Our Fumihito Sugawara is a great guitarist and produces awesome art works on our posters, he is from Fukuyama/Hiroshima, we are both from Fukuyama!!!! Is it just a coincident?? I don't think so, we will make something there in a future....

Claude9 McCan on keys, he can play keys with his tongue for real, and I love how he sings. Alan Uribe grooves insane on bass! He is one of a kind on electric bass, very special, I m very lucky to be on the same stage with him!!

And we have Rey Arteaga, Awesome awesome percussionist who won grammy couple years ago with the Latin band "Groupo Fantasma". No word, just catch our show and you know.

We will be at Stay Gold every Wednesday happy hour in September, please catch one of those Wednesdays, we will blow your mind completely!!
